Thanking staff for their ongoing support and commitment over the last two decades, the Triton offices were transformed for the day, creating a party atmosphere where all employees enjoyed a luxurious brunch and a free raffle to mark Lorna’s special milestone.

A special commemorative brochure was also created by Triton, which was given to each member of staff during the celebrations. The publication takes a look back at the leading shower manufacturer over the last 20 years and highlights key milestones, product launches and events that have kept the company at the number one position in the showering industry.

Triton Showers, known amongst the plumbing profession and customers for its outstanding service and product innovation, has continued to lead the market with a host of original product launches in the past 20 years. Most recently, Triton revealed the ninth generation of its best-selling T80 electric shower range, the T80Z Fast-Fit, offering the ultimate solution for replacement shower installations.

Lorna Fellowes, managing director at Triton said:

“Triton Showers has always had a strong brand, workforce and product range. During the past two decades, all of these essential elements have been nurtured and developed, ensuring that Triton’s products, services and employees remain the best in the industry.

“We are dependent on every member of staff to deliver the best high quality showers and results, especially in the current climate, so I am very grateful for their dedication. To mark our achievements during the past 20 years, we wanted to celebrate in style and host a memorable event, where we could celebrate Triton’s success and look forward to the next 20 years on this special occasion.”

Set up as a not-for-profit charity in 2010, the aim of Nuneaton Town Community Foundation is to encourage more young people to adopt a healthy lifestyle and participate in sporting activities and help them – opening up the facilities at Nuneaton Town Football Club’s to provide a central hub for community groups. To mark the special one year anniversary, the Foundation and Triton Showers threw a Christmas party at the Foundations interactive gym, based at the football club, where children enjoyed the innovative sports wall, outdoor space and dance mats. Helping them get into the festive spirit the children exercised to the tune of Christmas carols before enjoying a celebratory ‘cool down’ session of pass the parcel.

With support from Triton Showers, the Foundation has helped introduce over 4,000 local children and adults to sporting activities and the importance of living a healthy lifestyle through a wide range of engaging initiatives. Successes to date have included the installation of a striking graffiti wall, the development of community allotments and the opening of a children’s gym for 8 to 16 year olds – all of which are based within the Club’s grounds at the Triton Showers Community Arena. The Foundation has also worked within the wider community, including the development of a multi-sport scheme with the local Youth Club at Wembrook Community Centre.

Ian Neale, Chairman of the Boro’ Football Club said: “We launched the Nuneaton Town Community Foundation with the aim of opening up the fantastic facilities we have at Nuneaton Town Football Club for children and adults from the local community to meet and take part in a variety of healthy living and sport initiatives. Football is a great sport for bringing people together but we wanted to go one step further and make sure the club was giving something back to the community by providing facilities that can be used to help people think positively about sports and exercise.

“From day one our goal has been to make a lasting difference to the area. Through the initiatives we have introduced, such as the ‘Can She Kick It’ girls football training programme, Breakaway Club summer playscheme and Motiv8 evening club in conjunction with the local council, the Foundation is succeeding at giving something back.”

Lorna Fellowes, managing director of Triton Showers said: “We are so proud to be part of the festivities today and have enjoyed celebrating such a successful and fun-filled first year for the Nuneaton Town Community Foundation. We have supported the Foundation from the very start and our backing has also helped them secure additional like-for-like funding, which gave a real boost to their plans for the year.

“Finding interesting and engaging ways to tackle obesity and change eating and living habits, in both children and adults, is so important; particularly as distractions like computer games continue to take up so much of people’s time. The schemes organised by the Foundation are engaging and open to all, allowing children to experience working as a team, enhance their social skills and above all, have fun while exercising together. It’s great to see the positive impact that the Foundation has on the children in the local area and the community as a whole.”

As well as providing on-going support, the Foundation’s partnership with Triton Showers has enabled them to secure additional like-for-like funding through Sport England’s ‘Sportsmatch’ programme. This additional funding has enabled the Foundation to progress activities such as ‘Particip8’, which encourages girls aged 7-16 years to get involved with sporting activities.

Boro Tots football coaching for 3 to 6 year olds, a ‘Playing for Success’ programme that focuses on improving standards of literacy and numeracy and the ‘Vitality’ programme – a healthy living scheme for 7 to 11 year olds that makes use of the stadium’s allotment - are just some of the other initiatives being run by the club on a daily basis.

Steve Farmer, general manager of the Nuneaton Town Community Foundation said: “We are absolutely delighted with our achievements in the first year of running the Nuneaton Town Community Foundation. The allotments based at the club’s grounds have been a particular success and this year alone we have grown over 90kg of potatoes and assorted vegetables, which have been cultivated by children from local schools and used to teach the benefits of growing and cooking healthy food for a healthy lifestyle.

“Support from Triton has been crucial to make the Foundation a success and we’re now looking forward to involving even more children and adults in sporting and healthy lifestyle activities. Knowing that over 4,000 children and adults from the local community have already benefited from Foundation led projects is an amazing feeling and we’re looking forward to increasing the number of people benefiting from our facilities in 2012 and beyond.”

Triton Showers, the leading manufacturer of electric and mixer showers in the UK, has visited Level Three City and Guilds plumbing students at Warwickshire College to give a series of informative guest lectures and supplied products for the college’s training room.

Steve Saunders, senior technical manager at Triton Showers, met with 16 – 18 year old students on the course to give them an insight into the latest innovations that will make installations quicker, easier and hassle-free when they start to work for themselves.

To enable the students to practice their new found techniques, the leading shower manufacturer supplied the plumbing department with a range of Triton’s latest showers including the Dove and Dart mixer showers, as well as the new T80Z electric shower, which offers a fast, problem-solving retro-fit option – making it the perfect product for installers to keep in their van when they complete their course.

Steve Saunders said: “As the plumbing industry is so fast moving, it’s invaluable for students who are just starting out in their career to keep their finger on the pulse. Through guest lecture sessions and product demonstrations like these we can set newly qualified plumbers on the right track, and help them to maintain high standards throughout their careers.

“The Level Three class was very hands on, so it was great to give students an overview of the UK shower market as well as giving them a chance to ask any technical questions and test Triton’s latest product ranges. We also discussed industry legislation and the various training courses available from Triton, which the whole group seemed keen to learn more about.”

Phil Heritage, plumbing lecturer at Warwickshire College commented:

“Although our plumbing tutors are all qualified teachers with a background in domestic plumbing, it is invaluable to get an industry expert in front of the students. Steve provided an excellent overview of Triton’s product range and the applications they are suitable for. The workshop session was also particularly useful for students, giving them a first-hand view of the types of installation scenarios they might encounter after they’ve completed the course.”

To make life easier for both plumbing students and experienced installers, Triton has developed a Triton TI:ME iPhone application. This provides 24/7 access to its invaluable fitting books, as well as at-a-glance ‘top tips’, which can prove particularly handy when problem-solving information is needed at speed. The free to download app also allows installers to directly contact the technical team at Triton before, during or after installation.

In addition, a wide selection of video guides, tips and advice are now available on Triton’s website, including an explanation of kW ratings and guidance on cable sizes, as well as step-by-step shower installations.
The event was part of the newly formed Nuneaton Town Community Foundation’s initiative to encourage young people from the area into sports and educate them from an early age on what makes a healthy lifestyle through a wide range of engaging schemes. The club’s partnership with local company Triton Showers, announced late last year, got the ball rolling and ensured the Foundation’s plans could be put into action.

On the day over 100 participants tackled the 5km course starting from Riversley Park and working their way around the town centre before crossing the finishing line. Even the little ones got involved by taking part in the ‘Toddler Trot’ around the Park, a fun event especially for children aged between 1 and 3 years old.

Les Horton from Nuneaton Harriers, who ran in memory of his sister Molly Kinahan (who sadly passed away on 20th May 2011), was the overall winner with a time of 19 minutes 29 seconds. Claire Hobson from Coventry was the first woman to finish with a time of 20 minutes 8 seconds and Jake Baxter, 10 years from Camp Hill in Nuneaton, was the first child over the line.

Tina Simpson, marketing director at Triton Showers said:

“It was really encouraging to see the whole community join together on Sunday to raise money for such a worthy cause and have fun at the same time. We have supported the Nuneaton Town Community Foundation’s plans since last year and our backing has also helped them secure additional like-for-like funding through Sport England’s ‘Sportsmatch’ programme, which has given a real boost to the Foundation’s ongoing plans. This extra funding means the Foundation can progress activities such as ‘Particip8’ which aims to engage with 20 local schools and develop a 40 week, multi-sports programme aimed at girls aged 7 to 16, to encourage them to enjoy sports.

“The Hospice does such valuable work for so many in the Nuneaton area, and it is good to know that the money raised through everyone’s hard work will make a significant contribution towards maintaining this over the year ahead.”

Steve Farmer from the Nuneaton Town Community Foundation was in charge of organising the Fun Run and encouraging local teams to take part. He said:

“We were absolutely amazed and delighted by the amount of people who got involved in the Fun Run on Sunday. Through the Nuneaton Town Community Foundation, we already have some amazing projects underway – from allotments, through to a children’s gym. Everything we do with support from Triton is designed to show local adults and children how leading a healthier lifestyle can be easy and fun – so the Fun Run was the perfect event for us.

“All of the money raised is going directly to the Mary Ann Evans Hospice, so everyone who got up early on Sunday to get involved deserves a big thank you for supporting such a good cause.”

All money raised from the Nuneaton Fun Run will go directly to fund the good work carried out by the Hospice, which this year celebrates its 20th Anniversary of caring for people from the local area.

As the Nuneaton 5km Fun Run fast approaches this Sunday 22nd May aiming to raise money for the Mary Ann Evans Hospice, whether you plan to walk, skip or run on the day, Nick Wilson from the Nuneaton Harriers gives some pre-run tips to put those taking part on the right track:

Do :

Get plenty of rest before the run

Take a drink along and keep well hydrated with non-alcoholic drinks

Get-up out of bed a few hours before the start of the fun run if possible to allow your body to wake-up and your muscles to stretch out

Have a light breakfast of cereal and toast no later than two hours before the start

Arrive at the start in plenty of time as it may be busy and you don’t want to feel rushed

The weather is forecast to be sunny – but bring a bin bag with a hole for your head to keep you dry if it rains before the start just in case!

Be sensible - take up a position at the start line appropriate to your ability as you don’t want to get caught up with the faster runners!

Start slowly if you don’t normally run or jog

Most importantly tip of all ENJOY YOURSELF – walk, skip or run it’s your choice!

Don't:

Drink an excessive amount of alcohol the night before the race

Sleep in - it is an early race start

Start faster than you have ever trained

The Fun Run has been organised by the newly formed Nuneaton Town Community Foundation and is sponsored by local company Triton Showers to support the Hospice as it celebrates its 20th Anniversary helping people from the area.

The 5km Fun Run will start from Riversley Park, work its way around the town centre before ending up back at the Park.

Registration for the 5km Fun Run starts at 9am at the new ‘Louis’ play area, Riversley Park, Nuneaton on Sunday 22nd May and the run kicks off at 10am. For those with little ones, a ‘Toddler Trot’ around Riversley Park starts at 9.30am.

Anyone can take part but children under 11 years of age need to be accompanied by an adult over 18 years of age. Entry costs just £1 for children and £4 for adults if you register in advance. You can also join in on the day at the cost of £2 per child and £5 per adult.

Steve Farmer, from the Nuneaton Town Community Foundation and organiser of the event said:

“We really want it to be a really fun event for all - if you want to beat the clock and make a run of it that is great but equally if you’d rather take it easy and just make it a walk for all the family, or somewhere in between, that will be just as fantastic. All of the money raised is going directly to the Mary Ann Evans Hospice and the wonderful work they do for the area, so those involved can be sure it is all for a good cause too. The weather is forecast to be warm and sunny and so we hope to see a great crowd joining us in Riversley Park on Sunday morning. ”

Steve Farmer, from the Nuneaton Town Community Foundation is behind the organisation of the run said:

“This Fun Run is planned to be just that – fun! It really is open to everyone young and old and, as the girls from All Saints School have found, it can be great fun getting ready to join in as well.

“We really hope that everyone from families through to the more committed runners will join us on Sunday to take part, enjoy themselves and go some way to generating valuable funding for such a worthy cause as the Mary Ann Evans Hospice. Even for those who would rather not make it a ‘jog’, the course will only take around an hour to finish - so it could even make a great ‘wake up’ walk for yourself or even to take your dog along.

“Those with little ones are not stopped from joining in on the day too as there is a scenic ‘Toddler Trot’ which will be working its way around the park too and Oakey Bear from Oak FM will even be encouraging to cheer them on.”

Registration for the 5km Fun Run starts at 9am at the new ‘Louis’ play area in Riversley Park, Nuneaton on Sunday 22nd May and the run kicks off at 10am.

The 5km Fun Run will start from Riversley Park, work its way around the town centre before ending up back at the Park.

This Fun Run has been organised by the newly formed Nuneaton Town Community Foundation and is sponsored by Triton, who has been supporting the Foundation’s plans since its launch late last year. All of the money raised on the day will be going directly to fund the good work carried out by the Hospice, which celebrates its 20th Year Anniversary this year.

Tina Simpson, marketing director at Triton Showers said:

“Triton is delighted to be sponsoring this event and helping raise much welcomed funding. The Hospice does such valuable work for so many in the area and this money will make a real difference in maintaining this. The Foundation has already got some amazing projects underway from allotments through to a children’s gym, showing how leading a healthier lifestyle can be easy and fun and this Fun Run is a great example of how we can all get involved, get fit and enjoy ourselves at the same time. “

Emma Garner-Jones, one of the fun runners taking part from Triton, added:

“Getting ready for the run is proving enjoyable for everyone involved. I think we all feel that we are not only getting in better shape but we know we are raising money for a worthwhile cause and giving something back to the area at the same time.“

You can also join in on the day at the cost of £2 per child and £5 per adult.

Triton will also be giving every child who takes part a pump bag to remember the day.

Steve Farmer, from the Nuneaton Town Community Foundation and who has been behind the organisation of the run, said:

“It is great to get this Fun Run underway and we are delighted that Triton has been able to offer its support. We have planned the run to be open to all and to be as much fun as possible, and we really hope people will come together, get involved and have fun getting fit in the process. It is fantastic to see employees from Triton get the ball rolling.

“This really is a run for everyone too. Those who enjoy their running can certainly push themselves and aim for their best time around the track, but it would be great to see families having a go. Fancy dress, just making it a fun family walk or even taking your dog along for a bit of fresh air, can make the event a real success, so we hope people will dig out their trainers and join us on 22nd May.”

Finding a chic electric shower that makes a luxury design statement in your bathroom has just got easier with the launch of six stunning new Aspirante electric showers from Triton. What’s more they have a truly affordable price tag which gives them even more appeal.

A unique curved front gives each Aspirante shower a truly sophisticated feel, whilst the compact, slim line design makes it seems as though the shower is floating against your tiles for a show-stopping finish.

Available in six chic high gloss and matt finishes it is possible to choose a shower that works perfectly with your colour scheme or perhaps even adds a touch of bold contrast to your look. Choose from the highly polished Black or White gloss finishes, ideal to recreate a stylish monochrome feel in your own home or simply work in harmony with any colour scheme.

For contemporary loft styling try the sleek metallic look of Gun Metal and Brushed Steel for the latest industrial looks. Or try the striking matt Black Pearl and Riviera Sands for a more natural stone look which brings a feeling of touchable texture into your bathroom scheme.

The luxury designer feel extends to controls too. One central control knob selects the temperature whilst soft-touch electronic technology incorporated into the buttons means the shower can be switched on with ease, for the ultimate showering experience. A chrome fascia trim, riser rail and rub-clean shower head complete the look and get the balance of designer elegance, performance and ease of cleaning just right.

For the safety conscious, all models have an integrated phased shutdown system which makes the range ideal for use by all the family as the system flushes out all remaining hot water so there are no nasty surprises for the next user. This phased shut down has the added benefit of prolonging the life of the shower and limiting the need for future maintenance and saving you money in the long run.

Ideal if you are planning a complete bathroom refurbishment project or transforming unused space into a much needed extra bathroom, all colours are available in both 8.5kW and 9.5kW so they can be conveniently attached to existing electricity wiring for minimum installation disruption. A reversible water inlet even means your installer can easily fit the Aspirante range into limited or awkward spaces so no one need miss out.

The striking Aspirante showers are priced from around £199 - £250 depending on finish and kW size, and all benefit from a two year guarantee and the reassurance of Triton’s excellent customer service.

The UK’s leading shower manufacturer and largest employee in the area, Triton itself enjoyed 35 years of successful business growth in autumn last year. Putting this accomplishment very much down to the commitment of its employees, the company prides itself on supporting and developing the talents of its staff to help maintain this strong industry position, and the recognition awards have become a well received part of this.

Of the 40 employees receiving the long serving accolade, 21 have been with the company for over 10 years. A further ten awardees have been on the payroll for 20 years, and nine have been working for the business for a fantastic 25 years plus.

This year’s award winners came from all areas the business from production, personnel, and design to research, customer service and sales. Each winner was presented with a specially created certificate and a thank you gift of their choice and the selected gifts ranged from stylish ‘Cross’ pens to donations to the Help for Hero’s charity.

Kevin Hadley, production manager at Triton, received an award for 25 years service:

“I and all of the people who received a long service award were greatly appreciative of this recognition. It is certainly something Triton does not have to do, so it means a great deal. I have been at Triton for over 25 years now and throughout this time have been given the chance to develop skills and progress throughout the business. The support and opportunities available give everyone a real sense of being a key part of the company which is rewarding in itself. To receive an award that shows just how much our contribution is valued is a fantastic feeling.”

Lorna Fellowes, managing director of Triton Showers, said:

“We are delighted to be able to present so many employees with awards for long service. A strong company can only be built on the drive and support of its employees and we are extremely appreciative to have such a hard working and dedicated team of employees continuing to help keep Triton as the market leader.

“We have always believed in the benefits of investing in our employees and products, even throughout a challenging economic climate, to maintain the high quality and outstanding level of service that we as a company are renowned for and our customers expect.

“The fact that we have so many employees who have chosen to build their career at Triton also means we have an incredible amount of talent and knowledge under one roof. It is wonderful that people coming into the business can tap into this wealth of experience as we look to future developments.”
956999881112410130118159180001370000

A Dance In The Right Direction - NTCF Opens Childrens Gym

The Nuneaton Town Community Foundation has celebrated the launch of its new state of the art, interactive children’s gym as part of its latest healthy
The Nuneaton Town Community Foundation has celebrated the launch of its new state of the art, interactive children’s gym as part of its latest healthy living initiative aimed at children in the local borough.

To mark the launch, children from All Saints Primary School visited the Triton Showers Community Arena for the morning and tried out the new equipment. The gym houses an interactive sports wall and a full set of digital dance mats, which had the children stepping in time to some of their favourite pop songs.

Following a generous donation from Triton Showers earlier in the year, the Foundation was able to secure a pound-for-pound grant through the Sports Match initiative. This additional funding paid for the interactive gym and has allowed the Foundation to continue its support and education of children in the local area. The new children’s gym will play a key part of the charity’s healthy living schemes going forward.

Steve Farmer, General Manger of the Nuneaton Town Community Foundation, said:

“The launch of the gym coincides with our latest programme called ‘Particip8’. This is a girl’s only initiative in conjunction with 20 local schools to encourage girls aged 7-16 years to get active and try out a number of different sports.

“The dance mats were an instant hit and the combination of exercise, music and laughter really captured the essence of the Particip8 programme.”

Tina Simpson, Marketing Director of Triton Showers, concludes:

“It’s great to see that Triton’s sponsorship and the Sports Match grant are having a positive impact on the Foundation’s healthy living initiatives. The gym will play a major role in the new Particip8 programme, as well as offering a fun new challenge for the youngsters that continue to benefit from the ongoing Vitality programme.”
