New Safeguard T100 Care Shower02-11-2008
Conforming to the BEAB care standard for instantaneous water heaters, and encompassing a variety of benefit-led features for the care user, the Safeguard T100 shower is suitable for any bathroom situation and is the ideal choice for the elderly, visually impaired and those with physical disabilities, plus the easy-to-use design is ideal for people with learning disabilities.
Close attention to detail has been paid when developing Safeguard T100 Care, with user friendly details such as a large start/stop button covering the width of the base of the unit to make it easy to access even when the user is seated, a clearly labelled temperature care lever with a raised number dial to guide the blind, and in accordance with RNIB recommendations, large text to ensure everything is easy to see.
Other important features include an ergonomic showerhead with three extended levers for ease of use by those with limited manual dexterity, an extended 1m riser rail, colour-contrasting moving pasts to help identify the different features, audible bleeps when the start/stop button is pushed, the low flow indicator operates and the unit switches off and when the time shutdown begins, plus light indicators for when the shower is turned on, the flow of water is low and when the stop button is pushed.
Safeguard T100 Care is also a real problem-solver for tricky bathroom installations, performing even when there is fluctuating water pressure by keeping the temperature within 1°C of the chosen setting, even if the pressure drops as low as 0.5 bar.
This shower is designed to meet the astringent BEAB Care Mark and offers a unique three stage thermostatic process to ensure that there are no dangerous temperature spikes even when a high temperature is selected. This is controlled by the regulating valve which automatically adjusts the flow of cold water entering the heater to compensate for temperature fluctuations whilst ensuring that the volume of water entering the heater prevents the temperature rising above 50°C.
Throughout its development, Triton consulted the advice of hundreds of occupational therapists and carers to ensure that every element of the Safeguard T100 Care’s design caters to every need. Lorna Fellowes, Managing Director of Triton showers, comments: “We have a wide range of showering solutions to suit all bathroom installations and the Safeguard T100 Care is the latest introduction to our comprehensive range of care products, which has truly been designed with the disabled user firmly in mind.
“Demonstrating our commitment to quality and practicality, Safeguard is a complete care solution with real lifestyle benefits to offer thanks to the advice we have received from carers and occupational therapists along the way. In addition to the reassurance offered by a leading brand name, Safeguard T100 Care also benefits from the proper care accreditations, including the BEAB Care Mark, RNIB, WRAS, CE, IPX4 Rated and the British Kite Mark, for added peace of mind.”
The new Safeguard T100 Care sits alongside other options within Triton’s care range such as the Body Dryer which is a ceiling mounted installation that dries the user in less than three minutes and is of benefit for the less able who may find towel drying difficult plus it can be used in a seated position. Both electric showers and the Body Dryer can be connected to the same electric circuit, offering a complete bathroom care solution.
