Water usage in new homes under government scrutiny as never before. Under new voluntary code for Sustainable Homes, properties will increasingly be rated for there environmental impact.

 

In addition, the government is now considering whether building regulations should be changed to impose limits on total water usage in new build housing e.g. maximum bath capacities, tap and shower flow rates.

 

Which means that developers wishing to maintain a competitve edge must look to reduce the water output for appliances like showers.

Under the Code, new homes will be given star ratings that homebuyers will be encouraged to look for. With efficient flow rates in addition to the features you would expect of a quality Triton shower, the new range can play a significant role in lowering water consumption - and helping developers to offer the '6-star' rated homes that the Government will demand.

 

To gain the a '6-star' Code for sustainable rating, various water control and energy efficiency actions throughout the home will need to be addressed.
