Triton Showers has donated much needed supplies to The Trussell Trust Nuneaton Foodbank, marking the beginning of a long-term commitment to supporting families in the community.
The Trussell Trust has been running since 2013, supporting a nationwide network of food banks to provide emergency food for people dealing with poverty throughout the UK. The organisation’s vision is to one day remove the need for this kind of provision and achieve a hunger free future for all.
Triton’s initiative, which was developed by its employees, involved the team coming together to donate more than 226kg of food, toiletries and toys. In the last year alone, the Nuneaton hub has supplied 5,609 emergency three-day food packages to those in crisis and continues to distribute reserves across its four centres.
Tina Simpson, Marketing Director at Triton Showers, said: “We are delighted to be able to come together to collect essentials for The Trussell Trust as they continue to offer critical support.
“At Triton, we are committed to giving back to our community and know that there are many families in need. It’s an honour to be able to partner with a cause so close to home and we look forward to continuing our relationship while contributing towards making life easier for anyone who is struggling during these challenging times.”
David Stanier, Chair of the Nuneaton Foodbank Management Committee, said: “The pandemic has had a major impact on families everywhere. We delivered a staggering 168,886 food parcels to the West Midlands over the last year, highlighting the requirement to ensure everyone has access to vital resources. We’d like to say a big thank you to Triton for their kind contribution, we couldn’t do what we do without the kindness of local donors.”
